FamBam vs Astig Boys

Family feud hoops version

Each got 3 members from their families playing  in this teams: Filomenos (Bhon, Raffy, and Brian), Mesas (Frank, Frankie, Devan) and Acunas (Aldrin, Aldrich, Ads). We will be witnessing family feud on the court tomorrow as they both try to get their first win of the season. Who will prevail?

FamBam had been in close games with their opponents while Astigs had been surprisingly been blown out in Week 1 and 2. Frankie, Frankie and Devan provided a solid core for the team. This once-in-a-generation of hooper had been playing very well and Frank is the most surprising of them all. Bhon, as the sources say, will be joining Raffy and Brian tomorrow for the first time. Noel Bagalso had been sensational so far and provided a very good backcourt combo with Steven San Nicolas. Phoenix Galing and Trey Macabare were still MIA due to scheduling conflicts and we are hoping to see them play tomorrow.

Astig Boys are on a two game losing streak. The absence of their two veterans Ryan Cayabyab and Popoy Vargas are becoming very crucial for the Astigs. As of this writing, It looks like the Astig Boys will be missing them again. Aldrin, Aldrich, Mico Mercado and Aaron has to do alot of heavy lifting this week in order to notch their first win. Dave Go and Mark Companero needs to control the pain agains Frank and Frankie. Ads and John Dahan also needs to provide more production as both had been on a slump in Week 1 and 2.

Who will get their first win tomorrow?

vs

Pogi vs Carabao Crew

we are not friends today

This might be the headline for Jeff Duria and Ronnie Tallud tomorrow as they face off in Week 3.

The Carabao Crew finally notched their first win against the Astigs in Week 2 and will be looking to get another one at the expense of Team Pogi. Gabe Gaw who had been winless as a Dragonball with Angelo Dela Cruz and Melchor Dupale finally experience the feeling of winning at The DUB League. Jeff Duria was battling leg cramps in Week 2 and had to leave the court multiple times to rest the legs. Cy Real had a very big Week 2 and will be looking to build on it tomorrow. Paul Echaore is a spark off the bench and is providing the Carabaos with speed and tenacity. Gideon Gaw will provide solid minutes and outside shooting for the team.

Perhaps the biggest surprise was Nilo Concepcion who neutralized Aldrin Acuna with his hustle plays and defense. Will this be the first time we will see Lito Matildo and Marvin Gonzales come out and play?

Meanwhile, Team Pogi, runs like a well-oiled machine, zero to 120mph in 5 seconds! Ronnie Tallud had been showcasing his all around skill by being the playmaker and court general for the team. Rommel Calaguas as always lends his flexibility and big man skills for the team manning the middle. Richard Osay, Kenz Jacob and Cris Dapon had been playing sweet music together and is looking to turn up the heat tomorrow. Mike Beltran, Mark Lim, and Tiger Stark will come off the bench and provide veteran leadership. Gerald and Gerry will be the one two spark plug for the team.

This is a game among buddies. But, will they put it aside tomorrow and play the game with gusto?

See it tomorrow at Harry Stone, February 25, 2023.

vs

Kuya Cats vs The Underdogs

Something’s gotta give

The old adage will be tested again this weekend as the Kuya Cats goes up against The Underdogs. This game is dubbed as the battle of the undefeated.

The high octane ‘Cats had been flying high the past couple of weeks grabbing wins over the Barakos and GameCocks led by Juan Gutierrez, Gil Mandabon, and Renz Villanueva. The ‘Cats found gems in Ahwin Adricula and GJ Eva who are playing in their first season in The DUB League and had been a solid defender and contributor on the court. Meanwhile, Matea still lends his sweet shooting to the ‘Cats. CJ Luna had been on the sidelines battling knee issues. Mohammed and Arvin Dela Cruz will be looking to add veteran firepower to this team as Toby Cudiamat may not be able to play the rest of the season.

On the other hand, The Underdogs, does not look so “underdogs” the past couple of weeks. They are still winning in spite of Rodfil Camacho missing Week 2 game. Dillon Pineda and CK Arcilla provided the backcourt punch in the absence of Kyle Aguirre and Rodje Villa due to scheduling conflicts. Aris Aguirre and Jun Centeno were solid on the paint along with Philip Autencio, Dennis Villa, and Oliver Poblete.

Who will prevail? Join us at Harry Stone tomorrow February 25, 2023.

vs

Barakos vs Gamecocks

Breaking through The Wall

Coming from a very tough loss in Week 2, the Barakos will be looking to bounce back against the GameCocks, who are also currently on a 2 game losing streak.

It was a tough loss for the Barakos as they were battling ‘Cats for 3/4 of the game until Juan took over and closed the deal.

Carl Agcamaran was solid in Week 2 and will look to lead the Barakos tomorrow. Meanwhile, the Barakos will be looking for more production from their other stars Eugene Piong and Neil Bagalso. Surprisingly, Michael Perez had a great inaugural game in Week 2 and will be a steady contributor off the bench. Yoneo Gamalinda was also solid and will be leading the backcourt with Mark Anorico, Loven Villanueva, and Julius Ramos. John Dahan will provide the spark of the bench with timely 3 point bombs.

The GameCocks still hasn’t played their core and will be looking to see if Eric Pranivong, CJ Pineda, and Joseph Brimon can finally come together and play in Week 2. The game fowls had been in close games but losing gas to close out the games. The backcourt will be missing Raymund Escarlan as he posted that he is in Paris this weekend. Cyrel Legaspi, Jingson Morales and Cupid Musa will look to fill in that big void in the backcourt. Veterans Jerry Agtarap, Nervin Metrillo, and Ryan Manalo will man the paint.

Can either team break through the wall?
