Day: April 1, 2023

Astig Boys vs The Underdogs

RELAX and Get READY

These two teams are already assured of their position in the playoffs. The only thing that is left is what the final standings will be.

The Astig Boys are looking on who to face in the playoffs.

  • If Kuya Cats win, then the Astig Boys will face Team Pogi in the Playoffs.
  • If Kuya Cats loses by 15 points or more, then they will face Kuya Cats.

It doesn’t matter on who they will face as both Kuya Cats and Team Pogi are nuclear powered teams. But, if the Astig Boys watch the game closely, they might get a tip or two on how to beat these teams.

Meanwhile, The Underdogs are in the middle of the pack. They will most likely face The GameCocks in the playoffs as they had the tiebreaker over them.

Playoffs will basically look like a matchup between the two teams as the GameCocks won that game with 4 players on a late buzzer beater by Jerry Agtarap.

Will The Underdogs prevent that to happen again? Or will a full cast of GameCocks will finally prove that their win was not a fluke?

Get your popcorn ready – 1215pm @ Harry Stone Recreation Center on April 1.

Kuya Cats vs Pogi

The Battle to be number one

The last day of the seeding round will not be complete without drama.

The Kuya Cats had been unchallenged so far except for the lone loss vs The Underdogs early in the season. Juan Gutierrez had been putting up monster numbers. The ‘Cats are also jelling at the right moment along with their veterans Gil Mandabon, Mohammed Karim, and Toby Cudiamat.

Meanwhile, Team Pogi were also a well-oiled machine throughout the season only suffering their own loss at the hands of The Barakos, who are closely watching this game. Rommel Calaguas, Ronnie Tallud, Richard Osay, and Cris Dapon were running this machine  and had no signs of slowing down. Complimenting the starters are reliable guards in Gerard and Jacob who will be expected to level up their game this weekend.

The Kuya Cats are already ensured of the top seed unless Team Pogi wins by over 15 points to satisfy the tiebreaker rule.

Playoffs scenario:

  • Kuya Cats win and Barakos win.
    • Kuya Cats will be 1st Seed.
    • The Barakos will be 2nd Seed.
    • Team Pogi slides to 3rd Seed
  • Kuya Cats lose and Barakos win.
    • The Barakos will be 1st seed since they hold the tiebreaker over Team Pogi in their head-to-head matchup.
    • Team Pogi will be 2nd seed.
    • Kuya Cats will be 3rd seed
  • Barakos lose and Team Pogi wins:
    • Team Pogi will be 1st seed.
    • Kuya Cats will be 2nd seed.
    • Barakos will be 3rd seed.
  • Kuya Cats win and Barakos lose
    • Kuya Cats will be 1st seed
    • Barakos will be 2nd seed
    • Team Pogi will be 3rd seed

Check it out and enjoy the game this weekend at 1115am in Harry Stone Recreation Center.

vs

Barakos vs Carabao Crew

CAN THE CARABAOS spoil the BARAKOS?

The Barakos and The Carabao Crew are perhaps the closest thing of being sibling teams in this league. Both are in the BULL family.

In this once in a season matchup, who will come out as the better team?

Jeff Duria had been doing his heroics the last 6 weeks averaging 22.3 points and almost 2 steals a game for the Carabao Crew. Meanwhile, Eugene Piong had some monster games the past few weeks averaging 17 points per game.

Right now, the Barakos needs to win and if they do, final seed will be based on the following scenario:

  • If POGI wins, then the Barakos will be Number 1 seed due to the head-to-head victory that they have over POGI.
  • If POGI loses, then the Barakos will be Number 2 seed.

If the Barakos lose their game, then the likely scenario for them will be:

  • If either POGI win, then the Barakos will be Number 3 seed.
  • If POGI loses, then the Barakos will be Number 2 seed.

The Carabao Crew is already assured of the number 6 seed in the playoffs.

All eyes will be on The Barakos on this game. The Carabao Crew can play spoilers and ensure The Barakos land on 3rd seed.

Game will played at 1015AM on April 1, 2023 at Harry Stone Recreation Center.

vs

Gamecocks vs Fam Bam

Will FAM BAM Get Their First Win?

April 1 will be the last day for the Seeding Round. Gamecocks is already holds the tiebreaker over The Underdogs. Will they rest their starters before the big April 8 weekend?

On the other hand, Fam Bam had been winless the past few weeks and is currently at 0-6. Will they have a breakout game this week? As of this writing, Fam Bam is already assured of the 8th seed and will be battling the eventual number one seed, Kuya Cats or Pogi.

The Mesas and The Filomenos had been battling hard the past few weeks along with the heroics of Noel Bagalso. This had been a tough season for the team on the win column. However, it looked like the players themselves are having fun and enjoying the ride.

This will just be another game for both GameCocks and the Fam Bam.

But both teams got pride and wants to win the right way. Expect some fireworks tomorrow at Harry Stone Rec Center as the teams clash at 915AM.
