Lord of the Rings vs Gym Rats

‘Rats LOOKING FOR A STEAL

The Lord of the Rings team showed up on Week 2 and demolished the Average Kuyas behind the superb game of Juan Gutierrez, Ronnie Tallud and Robin Tallud with a combine score of 73 out of 93 points. Meanwhile, the veteran Arvin dela Cruz had been shooting lights out with 5 3 pointers in that game.

The Lords were able to stave off Cris Dapon’s hot shooting weekend who had 9 3 pointers for 29 points. The fast-paced offense that run Juan Gutierrez were too much for the Kuyas. In addition, the team also had a prolific shooting effort from Arvin Dela Cruz, Ronnie Tallud, and Robin Tallud. Ronnie had been the cog that keeps the Lords running while Juan leaks out on offense for easy fast break. Yoneo Gamalinda is still trying to find his role on offense for this loaded team but had been very solid on the defensive end. Angelo Dela Cruz also had a solid defensive game last weekend. Dave Go was a monster on defense and on the boards with 7 rebounds. Neil Bagalso is still out of town and may not suit up this weekend. We may see some Jingson Morales action vs the Gym Rats. Nilo was off on Week 2.

The Gym Rats almost defeated the Sini Gang in Week 2 leading by as much as 12 or 14 points before collapsing entirely when the Sini Gang started playing man to man. Cy Real and Renz Villanueva were running 110mph on the game while PJ Dacones provided a glimpse of what he can do for the team showing off his full arsenal. Gerard Itao was shooting lights out in the first half but was stopped in the second half entirely. Victor Dungca was also solid in the game. Jun Rey and Ja Along were not in the game last weekend as well as Mo Karim and Conrad Wolfe rendering the ‘Rats very thin on the front court. Joel Recinto had a solid game on both ends trying to battle the pesky Sini Gang

Tipoff will be at 1215pm on April 6th, 2024.

Average Kuyas vs Swoosh Bros

leaving on a jetplane; A Chance for KUYAS

Crazy week for the Swoosh Bros. Their Top Draft Pick, Aldwin Brotonel, will be out indefinitely due to unspecified reasons. This leaves them without one of their most potent weapon on offense. JR Sunga had to shuffle his rotation and make sure that they can make up for Aldwin’s absence. This leaves a very big opening for a bounce back game for the Average Kuyas who had been demolished last week by the Lords of the Ring – fancy name for fancy folks.

The Swoosh Bros had been monsters on Week 2 vs the Thundercats when they demolished them due to their physical game. Mico Mercado, James Bandolon, Rodfil Camacho, and Jun Centeno had been monsters on offense and on the boards. They were also a very fast team with Aldwin running the break and Jr Sunga, doing his best Steve Kerr impersonation by shooting lights out from the 3 point territory. The combination of physicality and finesse makes them dangerous at both ends of the court. They are currently sporting a 2-0 record and will have a chance to get to the top of the heap in Week 3. Ken Sunga, Ahwin Adricula, Chris Bonabon and Oliver Poblete may be seeing more action this week.

Meanwhile, the Average Kuyas firepower was just not enough for the Lords, even with Cris Dapon shooting 9 three point shots and Jordan Rey playing both ends of the court. Javo had been a phenomenal addition for the Kuyas and can be an integral part of their rotation going forward. However, the team needs Roy Lor to come out of his shooting slump. The Bisdak Triggerman is awfully quiet and had been shooting blanks from beyond the arc. Gerard Nicasio had been solid but was neutralized in Week 2. The team is still missing Jacob Felquir from its rotation and they are hoping that he comes back and play with the team. Mark Regondola was also missing last week and may be available to play again this weekend. Melchor Dupale was invisible in Week 2 but don’t count him to be green lighted in Week 3. I think he was holding his shots because he was playing against his kumpare Arvin Dela Cruz. Marvin Franciso is also playing well off the bench.

Thundercats vs Soju Bombers

No. 1 Overall PICK SIDELINED

The No.1 Overall Pick of the SOJU Bombers, Dillon Pineda, will be sidelined indefinitely due to an unspecified lower leg injury in his game at DABA. It had been a roller coaster ride for the SOJU Bombers, also known as the Green Light Team, due to their no holds barred shooting whether they hit or miss. This will really be a very bad news for the Bombers who were finally getting the hang of their game.

On Week 2, the older Bombers, (Lego, Philip, Cupid, and Eric) were shooting pretty well from the 3point line and they were able to take the lead over the The Big Chili team. Gabe Gaw was playing like a man possessed while Dillon Pineda finally got off from a shooting slump and had a very solid outing. Andrei Malacapay was a monster on the boards while Cyrel Legaspi was solid in leading the break for the Bombers. Aiden Oham was solid on the boards for the Bombers and was unstoppable in the paint over the smaller Chilis. The team overall was solid and will be trying to fill in that big void Dillon’s absence will leave behind.

The Thundercats able to hang in their matchup vs Swoosh Bros until the last couple of minutes when the Bros were able to break away. Matea Mandabon was solid from the perimeter while Kean was unstoppable on the lane. Gil Mandabon also showed why he is one of the best shooters on the league. James Griffith was somewhat neutralized by the Bros and will be looking to bounce back in Week 3. Lito Matildo who was doing pretty well in Week 2 will be looking to duplicate or surpass his performance this weekend. Dennis Villa and Tito Galing provided solid veteran presence. Rodje Villa had an off game with only 2 points but may come back on Week 3 with a big game – never count this kid out as he has that potential to score a bunch on anyone. Ace Sicam is still trying to get his leagues underneath him while Phoenix Galing will be suiting up this weekend.

Tipoff is at 1015AM on April 6th, 2024.

Sini Gang vs The Big Chili

FULLY LOADED CHILI BBQ

Sini Gang had been on fire the last two weeks and will continue on their hot streak on Week 3 vs The Big Chili who is rumored to be missing a couple of their main players this weekend. Sini Gang had been unstoppable the last 2 weeks and when you thought that the Gym Rats will have their number last week, they were able to dig deep and finish off the Gym Rats using their own game.

Meanwhile, The Big Chili had been hit by a string of bad luck. Unconfirmed rumors say that two of their best weapons will be out for an unspecified time due to reasons unknown to the league. The Chilis are also keeping mum about it like it is a Top Secret document. Notwithstanding anything that happened and can happened, the team is looking for a bounce back game. And what better way to get back on the horse than the try to take on the best team on the league right now. The Four Horsemen of Harry Stone – Bombi, John Dahan, GJ Eva, and Mitchell Salas – will be looking to wreck havoc in Week 3. However, rumor has it that one of them will not be there. Gerard Areja needs to have a big game along with Gerry Areja. Joseph Brimon and Jun Gustilo will try to hold off the Fully Loaded Sini Gang at bay while Orlando Mortel will try his best to slow them down. Maybe it is time to Free CK or Release the CK 47?

Sini Gang has had a solid season so far stacked by very solid players who can be starters in other teams. Michael Humphrey is phenomenal on both ends while Aaron Cua is running the court on 3x the speed vs anyone that guards him. CJ Pineda played for the first time and had a very solid outing while Ads Acuna enjoyed watching his team come from behind victory over the Gym Rats. Raymund Escarlan is still superb on the boards. Marc Anorico also played this week and had a solid outing although he needs to get his legs used to the grind again. Richard Osay played very good defense on the perimeter  and had been instrumental in their comeback in Week 2. Roman Blas had a solid, physical second half and was one of the cog in their victory over the Gym Rats. Meanwhile, Frankie and Devan Mesa were off that day.
