Recap

Thundercats precise passing plays proved to be the key to defeating the Dragonball Z team. The father and son tandem of Gil Mandabon (10 points, 3 rebounds and 2 assists) and Matea (10 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal) provided the one-two punch in beyond the arch.

Dennis size and play in the paint proved to be too much for the gritty tandem of Deffie Start (2 rebounds) and Jun Centeno (7 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist).  Jonnel Guttierez showed flashes of his high flying days and mid range jumpshot providing the much needed bench support for the Thundercats. Renz Villanueva (9 points) along with Noel (2 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, and a steal) and Rainier De Joya (7 points, 5 rebounds) gave the Thundercats the speed to run the break. Paolo Olea also showed his playmaking skills with 2 rebounds and 3 assist in the game.

Osborne gave the team the much needed jolt in the game, grabbing 3 rebounds and almost completing an assist to Philip Autencio who went home with 2 rebounds and an assist.

Young standout Tristan Moreno lead the way for the Dragonball Z with 18 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steals in the game. Gabe Gaw who was hobbling with an ankle injury finished with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 1 assist. Yuhenyo Giron and Richmund Echaore had an off night finishing with 2 points and 3 points, respectively. Arvin dela Cruz completed the bench support with a steal.

PREVIEW

Gokou is continuing his search for Dragonballs and thus, the team is called as Dragonball Z. This is team composed of a new breed of players playing at Harry Stone Recreation Center. Gabe Gaw, currently on IR,  is a 6’3″ behemoth with PG Skills and a long range bomb will captain this team. Eugene Piong will fill in during Gabe’s absence to lead this team of veterans and young guns alike.

The ever reliable Arvin Dela Cruz will continue his 3 point mastery after hitting 6 3-pointers in the preseason scrimmage. Defensive specialist Gil “Pards” Herrera will take lead on defense along with the reliable veterans Jun Centeno,Tiger Start, and Angelo Dela Cruz.

Young standouts Yuhenyo Giron, Tristan Moreno, and Richmund Echaore will lead the break for this team. Jet Carreon will complete the backcourt for the Dragonball Z team.

The Thundercats named after the famous 80’s cartoons with the same name will be led by Gil “Major Pain” Mandabon. This rag tag team of misfits will be anchored by Rainier De Joya, Paolo Olea, Jonnel Guttierez, John Cruz, Renz Villanueva, and Dennis Dagondon in the front court. Three point specialist Philip Autencio will show off his sniping skills from the 3point territory.

The backcourt combination of Noel Bagalso, and Matea Mandabon will provide much needed younger presence in the team.

This will also be Osborne Castro’s send off game with the Thundercats before he goes to a new city for work assignment.
