Recap

SemiPro suffered their first lost in this season at the hands of HeadSpin. HeadSpin used its size (and surprisingly speed) to keep the SemiPro players at bay.

Jeff Duria was his usual All Star performance garnering 20 points, 1 rebound, 3 assists, and 1 steal carrying the SemiPro attack. Rodfil Camacho was able to produce 13 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals in the game after missing his first few attempts. Jingson Morales added additional firepower and support for the SemiPro in the defensive end.

On the other side, young stud Rodje Villa lead the way for HeadSpin with 15 points, 3 rebounds and 1 steal. Joseph Brimon (2 points, 7 rebounds) and Carl Agcamaran (9 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists) provided a Twin Tower attack for HeadSpin. Kyle Aguirre  provided 7 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assists, and 2 steals while being the primary defender for Jeff Duria.

The officiating was a little spotty during the game as the second referee never made it to the venue.

PREVIEW

This Saturday, September 10th, SemiPro will face HeadSpin in the first game of the The Dallas United Ballers (DUB) League at Harry Stone Recreation Center in Dallas.

SemiPro is anchored by one of the best Fil-Am ballers in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex Jeff Duria along with a two headed monster of Rodfil Camacho and CJ Pineda. This is a run and gun team with speed and quickness in the break. The father and son tandem of Bhon Filomeno, Raffy Filomeno, and Brian Filomeno will provide a much needed threat from the rainbow territory. Completing the team will be the always energetic rebound and blocking sensation Jingson Morales, court general Von Pagdanganan, 16U Standups Phoenix Galing and Devan Mesa.

SemiPro is named after the team at the movie with the same name starred by Will Ferrell.

HeadSpin is one of the top teams in the DFW Metroplex in the early 2000s. And their team Captain Idan is reviving this monster. They will be anchored by the twin towers of Joseph Brimon and Carl Agcamaran. Their court general, Cris Dapon, manages the team in their halfcourt. Cris has great vision and a deadly 3 point range. Backing up Cris is the trio of 16U sensations Rodje Villa and Kyle Aguirre and the the ever reliable Gerard Areja. Their front court is composed of veterans Cupid Musa, Dennis Villa, Lito Matildo, Jojo LLavan, and Jerry Agtarap.

This will be a classic game of SIZE vs SPEED. This is a matchup you don’t want to miss.
