Recap

Dallas, TX – HeadSpin kicked the Thundercats out of the building in the first game of Week 2 with a score of 66 – 45, giving them solo leadership in the league standings.

High school phenom Rodje Villa opened the game with a 3-point shot and did not miss much on his way to a season-high 32 points. He also plucked down 8 rebounds, dished out 3 assists and blocked 1 shot to complete his wizardry over the cats.

HeadSpin blitzed the Thundercats in the first half, with a commanding 42-19 lead going to the second half led by their young duo of Rodje Villa and Kyle Aguirre (9 points), and with contributions from Cupid Musa who scored 8 points in the game.

Matea Mandabon opened the game for the Thundercats with two 3 pointers early but was held scoreless the rest of the game. Gil Mandabon tried to rally his troops early but was overwhelmed by the run-and-gun attack of HeadSpin.

Renz Villanueva came alive in the second half scoring all 14 of his points and rallying the Thundercats back from the brink. Rodje, however, had other plans and continued his hot streak by scoring 20 of his team’s 24 points in the second half to keep the Thundercats at bay.

Carl Agcamaran finished with 7 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists, 1 steal and 1 block. Lito also contributed 7 points while Jojo Llavan played his first game and finished with 3 points.

For the Thundercats, Paolo Olea (4 points), Jonnel Guttierez (2 points), John Cruz (6  points) and Philip Autencio completed the effort from the ‘Cats.

Thundercats will face off SemiPro on September 24th at 1030am while HeadSpin will play against Eraserheads at 1130am.

Dallas, TX – Fresh from a Week One win, both the Thundercats and HeadSpin square off this Saturday, September 17, 2022, in a battle for early season supremacy.

HeadSpin will be anchored by their Twin Towers Joseph Brimon and Carl Agcamaran while their young guns, Rodje, Gerard, and Kyle,  will lead the break for them. The ever reliable Cris Dapon will show off his playmaking skills again tomorrow after guiding the HeadSpinners with an all around performance last week versus SemiPro. Reliable veterans Jerry Agtarap, Dennis Villa, and Cupid Musa will provide the much needed support.

Lito Matildo will make his presence felt on both offense and defense with his versatile style of play. Is it Luka or Is it Shawn Marion? Lito will say that it is the Luka way.

On the other side of the ball, Thundercats will be lead by Gil “Major Pain” Mandabon inspired by a solid performance from Matea Mandabon and Noel Bagalso. Dennis Dagondon will man the paint together with savvy veterans Jonnel Guttierez, Paolo Olea, Philip Autencio, Renz Villanueva, and John Cruz.

Thundercats and HeadSpin will face off at 930am on September 17th.
