balut allstars gunning for win; can team pogi stop them?

There is a brewing question among the teams about the Talent that Balut All Stars have in the team. High energy workhorses Eric Pranivong and Patrick Corpuz led the “eggies” onto a near win against the highly touted defending champions KuyaCats. On the other hand, Team Pogi is still trying their chemistry as they are battling with age, although, they are not lacking in talent.

CK Arcilla, Loven Villanueva, and Cyrel Legaspi will provide the backcourt presence for the “eggies” while Chester Timbol, high octane Jingson Morales, Nervin Metrillo, and Richard Osay will provide the much needed support in the front court. The Balut All Stars rely heavily on their accurate 3 point shooting and fast ball movement in their loss confusing the erstwhile KuyaCats before they ran out of gas in the end.

Eric Pranivong scored 20 points and notched 5 rebounds while Patrick Corpuz has 12 points and 7 rebounds in that game. Will they be able to duplicate that effort in this game? Expect a much better ball movement and scoring from the Balut All Stars in Week 2.

Meanwhile, Team Pogi showed up like a team who had seen each other for the first time – rusty, slow, uncoordinated. The bright spots, however, are Michael Humphrey who scored 15 points and CJ Pineda who tallied 16 points in their loss to the Barakos in Week 1.They fell behind as much as 20 points in the game and came back to as close as 7 points before the Barakos pulled away.

Conrad Wolfe, GJ Eva, Gerard Areja,and Mark Lim provided the much needed support but the Barakos were just too quick, too fast, and too young.

Rumor has it that Joseph Brimon will be joining the pack this weekend. Will his presence in the middle help beef up both sides of the court for the “gwapings”?
