Recap

Dallas, TX – In the final game of the day, SemiPro leaned on their Mighty Big Three to annihilate Voltes V, 71 to 45, to get their first win of the season. CJ Pineda had a breakout game, scoring 18 of his season-high 28 points in the second half, while Rodfil Camacho added 17 and Jeff Duria poured in 14 points to go with his 6 assists.

Sweet-shooting guard Aldrich Acuna could not get going, and fellow three point specialist, Aaron Cua, couldn’t buy a shot as well, as Voltes V found themselves fall behind by 14 at the half. The lead ballooned to 30 points in the final canto, before SemiPro stepped off the gas pedal.

Aldrin Acuna lead the way with 5 blocked shots, to go with his 6 points, 5 rebounds and 1 assist. Jeffrey Roque scored his first baskets in the league and finished with 7 points in the outing.

Raymund Escarlan playing in his first game for the Volts finished with 5 points,3  rebounds, 3 assists, and 1 steal. Nervin scored 2 points to complete the tally for the Volts.

Meanwhile, Von Pagdanganan and Brian Filomeno scored 6 points and 3 points, respectively while 3 point specialist Bhon Filomeno finished with 3 points.

Voltes V will meet the Dragonball Z on September 24th at 930am in the morning while SemiPro will play against Thundercats at 1030am.

 

PREVIEW

Dallas, TX – This game will be explosive – a battle of two powerhouse teams. In what could be an early preview of post-season, SemiPro will face off Voltes V.

SemiPro still reeling from a Week One loss will look to bounce back in this game. Jeff Duria’s superb overall performance in Week One vs HeadSpin showed us why he is still on his prime. Rodfil Camacho, the Number 1 draft pick, will show off his multifaceted game. Although he started a little bit slow, he was able to pick up his game and helped rally the SemiPro team in the second half. CJ Pineda will anchor the break for SemiPro.

Jingson Morales also showed an all around game in his first game at Harry Stone. Jingson’s rebounding and timely steals helped the SemiPro closed the gap. Von Pagdanganan will use his playmaking abilities to find open opportunities for his teammates.

The Filomeno’s will find their spots from the rainbow territory and make sure to open up the defense for Rodfil and CJ.

Young guns Phoenix and Devan will have a chance to show off their game  in Week Two.

Voltes V fresh off from a Week One win will try to take win number two. Their run-and-gun style proved to be very fatal for Eraserheads. Aldrich and Aaron were sharp at the 3 point territory while also equally deadly at the break. Aldrin anchored the defense with 4 blocks along with Popoy Vargas, who had an all-around performance.

Ads, Voltes V secret weapon runs the break well together with Jeff Roque.

This will be a run-and-gun, exciting, full of firepower game.

SemiPro and Voltes V will face off at 1130am on September 17th.
